Now that it's over, and my feet have gotten a couple of days rest, I'm really glad that I participated. There were many moments that I was kicking myself and questioning my sanity for getting involved. I was completely consumed by it all week. All of the performers seem to have the same thoughts, and we have all become bonded by the experience. In the end I'm pretty proud of myself for getting through it without dropping out and not taking any breaks. We essentially walked the equivalent of 2.5 marathons, in heels no less!

There were so many different kinds of reactions; some people seemed to really enjoy it, some probably didn't get it, and of course there were some lecherous men hoping for a peek up our skirts. I spoke to a young man who, after sitting and watching for a while, felt that he learned something about women- that he started to look at us differently than he usually would when "watching women". I'm pretty sure what he meant was that he stopped objectifying us after he spent some time watching, and realized how ridiculous some of the men who were watching us (and making sexist comment under their breath) were. I think that's pretty interesting.

Thanks for solving some of the mystery. I assume the ouches related to the pumps. What were people's reactions? And, apart from the pain, in retrospect, was being in the piece satisfying for you personally?

Just wanted to let you know that some of the walkers are over 35... but indeed, none over 40.

It was an intense experience, to say the least. What I was thinking while up there: Ouch. What time is it? Ouch. Is it time yet? Ouch. (With random song lyrics interspersed between ouches.)
Ha ha.
