Mifflin has appeared as a lecturer and keynote speaker at colleges, universities and museums nationally, including Barnard College, Parsons School of Design, Rhode Island School of Design, Los Angeles MOCA and The Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum. She appeared in MSNBC’s documentary “Women and Tattoo” (2001) and CNN’s “Women of the Ink” (1998) and has spoken about her books on The Katie [Couric] Show and The Leonard Lopate Show (NPR/WNYC). She has served as an advisor on tattoo exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, The New York Historical Society, and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
